Sark

Hands down, this is not an incredibly nice shirt. It is a cheap Prostar teamwear shirt with a sponsor all over the shirt and a Hull-like colour combination. But IT IS A BLOODY SARK SHIRT!!! I cannot thank Luke Reaser, who got this shirt for me, enough for that. I spent half a decade chasing down a Sark shirt, but never had any luck getting one, making it the only Channel Island that ever had a representative side that I was missing in my collection (I will add Guernsey to this blog, soon).

The reason why this shirt is so rare is quite easy: They barely played football! Sark only ever featured in the 2003 Island Games, getting heavily thrashed in all group matches and going home soon. This shirt is matchworn from that tournament. If you like weird records, have a good look at the pic above, too. The guy in the background, Richard Drewbury, gave his international debut at the age of 52 years, ending his career after just two matches again.

The shirt is also special to me, as I have actually been to Sark. Not just to chase a shirt, but simply because I was curious about the place, the weirdest of all British territories and the only feudal state left in the world. Seriously, read it up, it is a mental place. I will not bore you with travel content now, but if you ever the chance: Go! It is incredible and stunningly beautiful!
