Matabeleland 3

I am not entirely sure, if this shirt was ever worn in an official match, but it certainly made it to Bulawayo, the capital of Matabeleland and was used in local training sessions, as the picture proof. It was designed after the 2018 World Football Cup in London, in which Matabeleland won over a lot of hearts. Making it all the way from Zimbabwe to London, fielding Bruce Grobbelaar for a few minutes and beating "an actual country" (Tuvalu), they attracted a large and loud crowd to every match in London and really got home with memories for a lifetime.

Following that success and the attention that came with it, Leyburn sports, a UK based tiny sports company, got in touch with Matabeleland and designed this cracker of a shirt for them. It was sold on classic football shirts and other major shops for a good while. I got mine straight from Leyburn, which I was closely in touch with at the time, as I connected them with Matabeleland. Thanks again, I love the shirt!
